Position Overview

The Controller: Vehicle Stock role at VW Sandton is a critical operational position responsible for managing all dealership vehicle inventory.

The successful candidate will ensure accurate tracking, efficient stock movement, and optimal vehicle availability to support sales demand. This role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to coordinate between multiple dealership departments.

You will play a key role in ensuring that stock processes are accurate, compliant, and aligned with Volkswagen and Motus operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Stock Management

  • Oversee all vehicle inventory at VW Sandton dealership
  • Ensure accurate tracking, recording, and updating of all stock vehicles
  • Maintain optimal stock levels based on customer demand

Coordination & Operations

  • Coordinate with sales and service departments for timely vehicle delivery
  • Communicate with manufacturer representatives regarding orders and deliveries
  • Ensure smooth flow of vehicles between departments

Auditing & Compliance

  • Conduct regular stock audits to identify discrepancies or issues
  • Ensure compliance with dealership and manufacturer stock policies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation at all times

Team Leadership

  • Supervise stock control team members
  • Provide training, guidance, and support where required
  • Ensure team adherence to operational procedures

Reporting & Analysis

  • Analyse stock data and inventory trends
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to management
  • Provide insights to improve stock efficiency and turnover

Systems & Process Management

  • Implement and maintain efficient stock management systems
  • Improve operational processes for better accuracy and efficiency
  • Ensure proper use of dealership inventory software

Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in vehicle stock control or dealership inventory management
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations (essential)
  • Knowledge of VW vehicles (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems/software
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
