Position Overview

ADvTECH is seeking a qualified Mathematics Teacher (FET Phase) for Maragon Mooikloof High School in Pretoria.

This role is designed for an experienced educator who can deliver high-quality Mathematics instruction, inspire learners, and prepare students for success in matric and post-school pathways within a structured, future-focused academic environment.


Key Responsibilities

Academic Delivery

  • Teach Mathematics in the FET Phase (Grades 10–12)
  • Deliver engaging, future-focused lessons that challenge learners
  • Support students in achieving academic mastery and exam readiness

Assessment & Reporting

  • Plan and conduct assessments aligned with curriculum standards
  • Provide accurate, timely feedback and academic reports
  • Track learner progress and implement improvement strategies

Student Development & Behaviour Management

  • Guide and support students in academic and personal growth
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and professionally
  • Foster a respectful and productive learning environment

Communication & Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and learners
  • Communicate progress and concerns clearly and professionally
  • Collaborate with staff to improve teaching and learning outcomes

Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate academic records and documentation
  • Participate in school administrative processes
  • Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures

Health, Safety & School Representation

  • Uphold health and safety standards in the classroom
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the school
  • Contribute to a positive school culture and reputation

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7)
  • PGCE or B.Ed (FET Phase) specialising in Mathematics
  • Registered with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
  • Police clearance certificate
  • 2–5 years teaching experience
  • 2–5 years specialist Mathematics teaching experience
  • Computer and digital literacy
  • First Aid certification
