Position Overview
Greenwood Bay College is seeking a Teacher for the FET Phase (Further Education and Training) in Plettenberg Bay.
This role is focused on delivering high-quality secondary school education, helping learners develop academic excellence, critical thinking, and readiness for life after school within a structured private education environment.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Guide learners toward academic mastery and independent thinking
- Use innovative, future-focused teaching methods
- Inspire and challenge students in a high school environment
Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct continuous learner assessments
- Track academic progress and maintain accurate records
- Prepare reports for parents and academic management
- Use feedback to improve teaching strategies
Student Development & Behaviour Management
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Support student academic and personal development
- Provide mentorship and guidance to learners
- Identify learners who require additional academic support
Communication & Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and learners
- Communicate effectively within the school community
- Work collaboratively with academic staff and support teams
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate academic documentation
- Participate in school administrative duties
- Support school policies and procedures
Health & Safety
- Ensure learner safety in the classroom environment
- Supervise students during school activities
- Follow health and safety protocols
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7)
- PGCE or B.Ed (FET Phase) with subject specialisation
- Registered with SACE (South African Council for Educators)
- Police clearance certificate
- 2–5 years teaching experience
- 2–5 years subject-specific teaching experience
- Computer and digital literacy
- First Aid certification
