Casual Merchandiser Job Overview
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is recruiting a Casual Merchandiser for its Brooklyn store in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining merchandising standards, replenishing stock, assisting customers, and supporting general store operations.

Key Responsibilities
As a Casual Merchandiser, your duties will include:
Stock Replenishment and Merchandising
- Restock merchandise to ensure shelves are fully stocked.
- Rotate stock using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Check and remove expired or damaged products.
- Maintain clean, organized, and attractive product displays.
- Ensure pricing and shelf labels are accurate.
- Build and maintain promotional displays.
Inventory Support
- Assist with stock counts and stocktaking.
- Report low stock and out-of-stock items.
- Load and off-load deliveries.
- Flatten and dispose of empty cartons properly.
Customer Service
- Assist customers with product queries.
- Follow up on out-of-stock requests.
- Provide courteous and professional service.
Store Maintenance
- Keep the sales floor and storeroom neat and organized.
- Adhere to health and safety standards.
- Wear the correct uniform and name badge.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Up to 6 months of retail experience.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office).
- Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays.
Advantageous Experience
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- Knowledge of FMCG merchandising standards.
- Bilingual communication skills.
