Job Summary:
Clinix Health Group is seeking a skilled Electrical Artisan to oversee the hospital’s technical department, ensuring that machinery, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained and fully operational. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting daily checks, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
✔ Electrical or Mechanical Diploma
✔ National Trade Certificate
✔ Minimum of 5 years’ maintenance experience in a hospital/healthcare setting
✔ Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act)
✔ Familiarity with R158 Building Regulations for hospitals & theatre specifications
✔ Experience with power factor correction (PFC) and standby power facilities
✔ Strong computer literacy and technical problem-solving skills
✔ Ability to work under pressure and adapt to change
✔ Willingness to work overtime when required
Key Responsibilities:
1. Machinery & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform daily checks on all hospital machinery and equipment.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are followed and make recommendations for improvements.
- Execute new electrical installations and upgrade existing machinery.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance of industrial and basic appliances.
- Oversee the reticulation system of the hospital facility.
2. Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all work meets health and safety standards and is compliant with the OHS Act.
- Identify equipment deviations, report them, and implement corrective actions.
- Conduct root cause analysis on recurring mechanical or electrical failures.
- Ensure that maintenance operations align with hospital regulations and industry standards.
3. Facility & Infrastructure Oversight
- Draft and manage the hospital’s facility plan.
- Oversee the repair, maintenance, and installation of electrical machinery and equipment.
- Ensure efficient operation of power systems, including backup generators and PFC.
- Supervise compliance with theatre and industrial kitchen specifications.
