Position Overview: Casual Cashier Job in Mbombela
Dis-Chem is currently hiring experienced Casual Cashiers for its stores at ILanga Mall. This role is perfect for candidates looking for part-time retail jobs in Mpumalanga.
As a cashier, you will play a critical role in delivering a world-class shopping experience by accurately processing transactions and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately using the Dis-Chem POS system
- Handle all payment types (cash, cards, vouchers, coupons)
- Maintain proper cash flow and ensure safe handling of money
- Deliver excellent customer service and build professional relationships
- Manage returns, refunds, and exchanges as per company policy
- Promote loyalty programmes (e.g., Discovery, Momentum, eBucks)
- Ensure all items are scanned and paid for before leaving the store
- Monitor and report suspicious behaviour to management
- Stay updated on promotions and store offers
- Maintain compliance with Dis-Chem security and operational procedures
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Minimum 6 months’ cashier or till operation experience
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Strong numerical skills
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Basic customer service experience
- Willingness to work retail hours (including weekends and holidays)
