Position Overview
The Financial Accountant (MTP Division) role is ideal for professionals seeking accounting jobs in Mpumalanga, finance careers in South Africa, or corporate financial analyst roles.
You will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and performance analysis, ensuring accurate financial data and supporting strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Support internal and external audits
Month-End & Year-End Processes
- Manage journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure timely and accurate financial close processes
Financial Analysis & Planning
- Analyse financial data and provide meaningful insights
- Conduct variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning
- Identify trends and recommend improvements
Cash Flow & Transactions
- Monitor and manage cash flow
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
- Reconcile financial discrepancies and ensure data integrity
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare and submit tax returns
- Assist with tax planning strategies
- Liaise with auditors and tax authorities
Risk Management & Controls
- Design and implement internal control frameworks
- Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Prepare detailed reports for management
- Communicate financial performance to leadership
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business goals
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- CA(SA) or equivalent (advantageous)
Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in financial accounting
- Experience in corporate or multi-entity environments
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting and compliance
Technical Skills
- Experience with accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, AS400, etc.)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, Macros)
- Experience with Power BI (advantageous)
