Position Overview

Motus Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Trainer to join the Motus Training Academy in Pinetown.

The role involves delivering high-quality technical training, providing onsite and remote support, managing training facilities, and ensuring learners achieve competency in automotive technical skills. The successful candidate will also support curriculum development, assessments, compliance, and continuous improvement of training delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Deliver theoretical and practical technical training to learners and delegates
  • Facilitate assessments (written and practical) according to structured lesson plans
  • Apply interactive teaching methods to enhance learner understanding
  • Invigilate examinations and ensure fair assessment processes

Curriculum Development & Training Material

  • Develop, update, and maintain technical training materials
  • Align content with current automotive industry standards and practices
  • Identify training needs and support continuous curriculum improvement
  • Collaborate with training specialists and internal stakeholders

Facility & Equipment Management

  • Ensure training facilities are maintained and fully operational
  • Monitor and maintain training equipment and tools
  • Ensure adherence to health & safety standards during all training activities
  • Oversee operational readiness of training resources

Administration & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate learner records and training documentation
  • Compile assessment reports and submit outcomes to relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor and report operational risks and process issues
  • Support budget tracking and variance reporting

Customer & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide technical support to learners and internal stakeholders
  • Resolve training-related queries and ensure learner satisfaction
  • Engage with line managers and business units to align training needs

Continuous Improvement & Compliance

  • Identify opportunities to improve training quality and effectiveness
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs and organisational standards
  • Contribute to development of improved training processes and systems

Minimum Requirements

  • Qualified automotive technician
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a similar technical environment
  • Diesel trade qualification (advantageous or required depending on role scope)
  • Facilitator and Assessor certification (advantageous)
  • Strong technical background in automotive systems
