Position Overview
Dis-Chem is seeking a Merchandiser to ensure shelves are fully stocked, well-presented, and aligned with store standards. The role focuses on stock control, product presentation, and delivering excellent in-store customer service.
Key Responsibilities
📦 Stock Management
- Restock merchandise to maximise sales
- Ensure correct storage and shelving of stock
- Monitor expiry dates and remove outdated stock
- Assist with stock counts and stocktaking
🛒 Merchandising & Display
- Maintain store layout and planogram standards
- Ensure shelves are neat, fully stocked, and correctly labelled
- Build and maintain promotional displays
- Report price discrepancies and stock issues
🤝 Customer Service
- Assist customers with product queries
- Ensure customer stock requests are followed up
- Provide friendly and professional service at all times
🧹 Store Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness of shelves and storerooms
- Assist with loading/unloading stock
- Ensure FIFO (First In First Out) stock rotation is followed
Requirements
Essential
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Up to 6 months retail experience
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office)
- Willing to work retail hours
- Physically fit to lift and move stock
Advantageous
- 1+ year retail experience
- FMCG or merchandising knowledge
- Product category knowledge
