Job Purpose
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is building a strategic talent pool of Casual Cashiers for its Irene Link store. Successful candidates will provide exceptional point-of-sale customer service, process transactions accurately, and help maintain a world-class shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
As a Casual Cashier, you will:
Customer Service
- Deliver outstanding customer service at all times.
- Build professional relationships with customers.
- Handle customer queries and report complaints to supervisors.
- Inform customers about current promotions and offers.
Cash Handling and POS Operations
- Process cash, card, vouchers, and coupon payments.
- Operate the till accurately and securely.
- Handle refunds and exchanges according to company procedures.
- Process loyalty cards, including Discovery Health, eBucks, ABSA Rewards, and others.
- Ensure daily takings are handled confidentially.
Security and Compliance
- Protect your till code and password.
- Report suspicious behaviour immediately.
- Ensure all outgoing items are scanned and paid for.
- Follow all Dis-Chem security and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Minimum of 6 months cashier or till operations experience.
- Computer literacy (MS Office).
- Sound numerical skills.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Basic customer service skills.
- Willingness to work retail hours.
Advantageous
- Ability to speak a third language.
