About the Sales Associate Role

The Sales Associate is responsible for turning showroom visits into successful sales through effective customer engagement, product demonstrations, and accurate order processing.

You will support showroom targets by delivering excellent customer service while ensuring operational standards are followed.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Execution & Conversion

  • Engage walk-in customers and identify needs
  • Demonstrate and promote products effectively
  • Convert customer interactions into sales
  • Achieve individual sales and conversion targets
  • Support account openings and order processing

Customer Experience

  • Deliver a professional and positive customer journey
  • Guide customers through product selection and purchase process
  • Resolve basic queries and escalate complex issues
  • Build trust through ethical and accurate selling

Product Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and promotions
  • Ensure accurate pricing and quoting aligned to catalogues
  • Stay informed about new product launches and campaigns

Order Processing & Administration

  • Capture customer orders, payments, refunds, and credits
  • Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate
  • Maintain records for reporting and audits

Stock & Showroom Standards

  • Assist with stock movement and replenishment
  • Maintain clean and organised showroom presentation
  • Ensure proper handling of stock to prevent damage
  • Report stock issues or discrepancies

Compliance & Risk Control

  • Follow all company policies and procedures
  • Adhere to cash handling and payment processes
  • Participate in training and compliance sign-offs
  • Escalate risks or non-compliance

Team Support

  • Work collaboratively with team members
  • Support promotions and campaigns
  • Be flexible with shifts, weekends, and public holidays

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric (required)
  • At least 1 year retail or sales experience
  • Customer-facing, target-driven sales experience
  • Availability for shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Homeware retail experience (advantageous)
  • Clear credit and criminal record
