Purpose of the Job:
Senwes Equipment is seeking an Artisan Assistant to support mechanical artisans in servicing, adjusting, performing minor repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Maintenance Support:
- Assist artisans with executing mechanical repairs and maintaining machinery.
- Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and equipment checks.
- Use hand and power tools for various repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Inspect parts like batteries, belts, filters, wiper blades, and lights.
- Clean parts and machines before and after repairs.
- Perform minor repairs, replace parts, and keep workshop equipment clean and orderly.
- Assist in driving, testing, and maintaining vehicles and machinery.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and perform repairs.
- Adhere to relevant SANS standards and complete additional tasks as assigned.
- Capital Projects Support:
- Help implement mechanical capital projects.
- Upgrade and maintain mechanical assets, ensuring compliance with SANS standards.
Requirements:
- Education: National Senior Certificate required.
- Experience: Two or more years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience preferred.
- License: Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, with a good understanding of mechanical systems.
- Ability to perform manual tasks and follow established procedures.
- Capable of diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues.
- Precision and attention to detail in performing maintenance tasks.
- Flexibility in responding to different tasks and emergency situations.
