Job Description:
As a Control Room Operator, your primary responsibility will be to monitor and manage security systems, including CCTV surveillance and alarm systems, ensuring prompt detection and reporting of any suspicious activity. You will be required to coordinate emergency responses effectively, maintaining constant communication with on-site security personnel. This role requires the ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment to ensure the safety and security of the premises.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor various security systems, including CCTV cameras, access control, and alarm systems, to detect and respond to any security breaches or threats.
- Act swiftly to manage alarms and dispatch emergency services when necessary, ensuring effective communication with on-site security and other emergency personnel.
- Utilize your knowledge of body language analysis and CCTV surveillance skills to assess potential threats and take appropriate actions.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and security reports, ensuring proper documentation for investigative purposes.
- Establish and sustain effective risk management strategies to reduce crime-enabling factors in the area.
- Implement an effective information network for investigating and prioritizing crime threats, supporting crime prevention initiatives.
- Collaborate with team members and use complex problem-solving skills to mitigate potential risks and security challenges.
- Maintain confidentiality and follow security protocols, ensuring that sensitive information is safeguarded.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent (NQF Level 4).
- Valid PSIRA registration (minimum Grade B).
- Proficiency in using computer systems and security software.
- At least 4 years of experience working in a Control Room or security environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft detailed reports and communicate effectively during emergencies.
- Completion of CCTV Surveillance Skills and Body Language courses is required.
- Firearm Competency for Handgun, Shotgun, and Rifle, as issued by SAPS, for business purposes.
- NKP registration will be beneficial.
- Willingness to undergo polygraph testing.
- Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment, with preference given to candidates in the Govan Mbeki District.
