Job Description:

Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for experienced Cashiers to join their new store in Meyerton. The role focuses on providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale while adhering to company policies and ensuring transaction accuracy and fraud prevention.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• At least 6 months’ experience in cashier or till operations.
• Computer literate (MS Office).
• Strong numerical skills.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
• Basic customer service skills.
• Flexibility to work retail hours.

Advantageous:

• Proficiency in a third language.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to Dis-Chem’s customer service policies and establish professional relationships with customers.
• Handle customer complaints and compliments by reporting them to the Frontline Supervisor or store management.
• Ensure adherence to customer turnover hourly rates and awareness of current sales and promotions.
• Safeguard colleagues and customers from risk and maintain adherence to security protocols.
• Manage cash flow, including authorising line voids and price changes with supervisor approval.
• Process all types of payments (cash, cards, vouchers, etc.), loyalty cards, and accelerator partner cards.
• Securely place cash in drop safes and ensure personal codes/passwords are confidential.
• Handle all transactions, exchanges, and returns according to company policies.
• Report suspicious activity to management and address merchandise-related queries.
