TsAfrika Catering Solutions is seeking a dedicated Cashier to join our team. The Cashier is the first point of contact for customers, receiving payments via cash, cheque, or card, and providing exceptional service at the front of the house. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Ensure that the counter and tills are clean, organized, and operational.
- Count and maintain the float, ensuring there is sufficient change and necessary supplies (e.g., paper and ribbons for printers).
- Ensure stock in the resale area is properly displayed and restocked daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the front-of-house area.
- Perform daily cash-ups, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately.
- Issue receipts, process payments, and return the correct change to customers.
- Address any discrepancies in cash handling and report shortfalls.
- Assist in running both the front and back of house operations, especially during quiet periods, including cleaning duties.
- Ensure that sales analyses are prepared daily.
- At the end of your shift, ensure the Admin Assistant or Admin Manager completes the cash-up process for each till.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong clerical and administrative skills.
- Confidence in handling money and managing cash.
- Proficiency in operating point of sale (POS) systems.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Highly organized and responsible, ensuring smooth operations.
- Friendly, helpful, and customer-focused demeanor.
Qualifications:
- Completed Grade 12 (Matric).
- 2-4 years of experience in a similar cashier or administrative role.
