Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vessel Service Operator at I&J, Cape Town Waterfront. The successful candidate will assist the Vessel Service Supervisor with quay-side tasks, ensuring that all equipment and materials comply with I&J Production Policies and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with moving vessels and handling quay-side operations.
- Remove items from the quay to maintain an organized workspace.
- Maintain quayside housekeeping to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Support vessel discharge operations and assist with driving and collections.
- Help furl vessels in South African ports when required.
- Perform administrative tasks as needed.
- Assist other departments when required.
Minimum Requirements
Experience:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a Vessel Service Operator role.
Qualifications:
- Grade 11 or NQF Equivalent.
Additional Requirements:
- Hyster License (Forklift License).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- SAP knowledge and working experience.
- Computer literate (MS Office preferred).
