Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Junior Logistics Manager to oversee staff transportation operations. This role involves coordinating, managing, and optimizing transportation services to ensure reliable and efficient staff mobility. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transportation Coordination:

    • Plan and manage daily staff transportation schedules to ensure timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
    • Coordinate with drivers and transportation vendors to address operational challenges.
    • Monitor vehicle routes and optimize them for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Vendor Management:

    • Liaise with third-party transportation service providers to maintain high service quality.
    • Ensure compliance with contract terms and address any service-related issues.
  • Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all transportation services adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular checks on vehicles and drivers to confirm compliance with legal and operational standards.
  • Communication and Issue Resolution:

    • Serve as the point of contact for staff inquiries and complaints related to transportation.
    • Resolve logistical issues promptly to minimize disruptions in service.
  • Reporting and Analytics:

    • Track and report on transportation-related costs and performance metrics.
    • Provide regular updates to senior management on logistics operations.
    • Identify and implement process improvements based on performance data.
  • Documentation and Administration:

    • Maintain accurate records of vehicle schedules, fuel usage, and driver performance.
    • Handle documentation for licenses, permits, and other transport-related requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Minimum grade 12 Qualification

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or operations management (experience in staff transport is a plus)

  • Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in logistics management software and tools
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills for reporting and data analysis
  • Soft Skills:

    • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Other Requirements:

    • Knowledge of local transportation laws and regulations
    • Flexibility to handle emergencies and resolve issues outside standard working hours

Working Conditions:
