Your Role as a Part-Time Sales Assistant
As a Part-Time Sales Assistant, you will play a crucial role in delivering excellent customer service, increasing sales, and keeping the store organized. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Customer Service & Sales

Greet every customer with a warm smile and friendly attitude

Assist customers in finding the right products

Promote sales and upsell related products

Inform customers about store promotions, special offers, and new arrivals

Build and maintain positive relationships with customers

Handle customer queries and complaints professionally
2. Cashier & Payment Processing

Operate the cash register efficiently

Handle transactions accurately and securely

Ensure all cash-handling procedures are followed

Maintain a neat and organized checkout area

Process returns and exchanges according to store policy
3. Merchandising & Stock Management

Receive, unpack, and organize new stock

Arrange products in an appealing and customer-friendly manner

Ensure shelves are fully stocked and products are displayed correctly

Help with stock-taking and inventory management

Keep the store clean, neat, and welcoming
4. Store Operations & Security

Follow store security procedures to prevent stock losses

Monitor the sales floor for any suspicious activity

Ensure all store policies and procedures are followed

Maintain a safe working environment
What We Are Looking For
To be successful in this role, you need to have:
Minimum Requirements
✔ Matric Certificate (Grade 12)
✔ Previous experience in retail, customer service, or cashier roles (e.g., Sales Assistant, General Worker, Store Associate)
✔ Excellent communication skills in English
✔ Basic computer literacy
✔ Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
✔ Honesty and integrity when handling money
✔ A passion for retail and customer service
✔ Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
✔ Experience working with point-of-sale (POS) systems
✔ Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
✔ Ability to work well in a team and support colleagues
✔ Attention to detail in stock handling and merchandising
✔ Friendly, energetic, and positive attitude
Note: Candidates must live within a 10km radius of the store for easy commuting.
