Key Responsibilities
As a Bookkeeper / Financial Administrator, you will be responsible for managing the full financial function of the company. Your duties will include:
Accounts Payable and Receivable

Processing supplier invoices and ensuring timely payment

Managing customer billing and following up on outstanding payments

Capturing deposits, reconciling supplier accounts, and maintaining records
Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation

Conduct monthly bank reconciliations
-
Reconcile credit card statements and investigate discrepancies
-
Ensure all transactions are captured correctly
Financial Reporting

Prepare general ledgers, trial balances, income statements, and balance sheets

Monitor cash flow and report on financial trends
-
Provide accurate reports to management for decision-making
Project Financial Management
-
Track and allocate project costs such as labour, materials, and overheads

Monitor job costing to ensure budget alignment

Support project managers with cost reporting
Tax and Statutory Compliance

Submit VAT, PAYE, and other statutory returns
-
Maintain compliance with SARS requirements

Assist with annual audit preparation
Administrative Support

Maintain financial filing systems

Update customer and supplier details

Assist with general office administration when needed
Minimum Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or financial administration role

Prior experience in the construction sector is highly preferred

Diploma or degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Financial Administration

Strong knowledge of Pastel Accounting Software
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – especially Excel and Outlook

Familiarity with payroll processing is advantageous
-
High attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines

Must be available immediately
