We are now seeking an ambitious, driven, and customer-focused Account Manager to join our team in Midrand, Gauteng.


Job Overview

As an Account Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage and grow strategic customer accounts while delivering exceptional service and exceeding sales targets. You’ll play a vital role in identifying business opportunities, formulating tailored account plans, and strengthening customer relationships. This role is integral to ensuring profitable volume growth, brand loyalty, and operational efficiency within the sales value chain.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, the successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned regions or customer segments.

  • Develop and implement detailed account plans to achieve both long- and short-term objectives.

  • Conduct comprehensive account reviews, evaluating performance, sales trends, and profitability metrics.

  • Optimize customer service delivery to exceed expectations and promote loyalty.

  • Manage and nurture customer relationships, serving as the primary liaison between CCBSA and the client.

  • Execute in-store promotions and brand activations to increase market penetration.

  • Generate accurate orders and ensure timely delivery.

  • Monitor and manage cooler assets and merchandising standards in customer locations.

  • Ensure timely cash collections and manage credit accounts to mitigate financial risks.

  • Track competitor activity and compile detailed reports for strategic analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with all company standards and policies.


Required Skills and Knowledge

The ideal candidate should demonstrate the following competencies:

Technical Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of sales and marketing principles.

  • Familiarity with TSP (Targeted Sales Planning) methodology.

  • Excellent grasp of execution standards and merchandising strategy.

  • Proficiency in cooler and asset management.

Soft Skills and Attributes:

  • Outstanding negotiation and interpersonal abilities.

  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

  • A team player who can also work independently under minimal supervision.

  • Resilient, energetic, and results-oriented with a proactive approach.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Account Manager role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential.

  • A completed three-year qualification in Sales or Marketing will be highly advantageous.

  • At least 2 years of proven experience in a sales/marketing role within the FMCG industry.

  • A valid Code 08 Driver’s License is mandatory.

  • Willingness to travel locally within the assigned territory.
