Role Overview
As a Trade Marketing Specialist, your role is pivotal in bringing national brand strategies to life at the regional and local levels. You will be responsible for activating the annual brand calendar, coordinating promotional campaigns, and ensuring marketing initiatives translate effectively into in-store execution. The position requires strategic collaboration with internal departments such as Customer Marketing, Commercialisation Project Managers, and Regional Sales teams to achieve consistent growth and strong market presence.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing the following core duties:
1. Brand Campaign Activation

Translate the national brand calendar into localized brand promotions tailored for all regional markets.

Ensure all initiatives align with the Annual Business Plan (ABP).
2. Promotion and Campaign Execution

Develop strategic briefing guidelines and execution frameworks for Customer and Regional Sales teams.

Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of brand campaigns and trade promotions across various touchpoints.
3. Point of Sale (POS) Material Management
-
Manage the ordering and distribution of POS materials to support key campaigns.

Ensure timely delivery and deployment of materials across sales districts.
4. Post-Campaign Analysis

Conduct detailed campaign reviews to assess effectiveness, risks, and opportunities.

Deliver feedback and recommendations for improving future activations and promotional development.
5. Product Launches and Discontinuations

Collaborate with Commercialisation Project Managers to drive the execution of new product launches and manage product lifecycle events.

Provide trade marketing support for both launch and exit strategies.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Customer Marketing Managers to explore and implement innovative trade solutions.

Support regional and customer teams with activation tools and materials to ensure sales enablement.
Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate must be a strategic thinker with a passion for execution, who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic FMCG environments.
Minimum Qualifications

BCom or Marketing degree (essential).

A postgraduate qualification in marketing, commerce, or business will be an advantage.
Experience Required

Minimum of 5–6 years of relevant experience in FMCG trade marketing, customer marketing, or sales execution roles.

Demonstrated experience in campaign management, trade promotions, and POS distribution.
