Role Summary
As the Bookkeeper / Accountant, you will manage all core accounting functions, including bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and reporting. This is a fully remote role, making it ideal for professionals who value flexible working hours and project-based contract work.
You will collaborate closely with the Financial Director to ensure smooth month-end and year-end processes while keeping financial records fully up-to-date. This position is particularly suited to those with experience in creative agencies or project-based financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable

Review, verify, and process supplier invoices using Xero and Chase (or similar project management tools).

Prepare weekly and ad-hoc payment runs with all necessary approvals.

Reconcile supplier payments and resolve outstanding balances with vendors.
Accounts Receivable

Create and send invoices based on project schedules and client contracts.

Manage collections diplomatically while maintaining strong client relationships.

Track receivables and provide clear, actionable financial reports to internal stakeholders.
Reconciliation & Reporting

Reconcile accounts payable/receivable sub-ledgers with the general ledger.

Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses.

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring full compliance with accounting standards.
Process Improvement

Identify inefficiencies and recommend smarter, streamlined financial workflows.

Assist with upgrading financial systems and internal controls for greater accuracy and speed.
Collaboration

Partner with project managers, account teams, and clients to ensure financial transparency across all projects.
Requirements

3+ years’ experience in an accounting or finance role (creative agency or project-based environment preferred).

Proficiency in Xero and ideally Chase (or similar).

Strong knowledge of accounting principles and local regulations.

Familiarity with agency contracts, billing practices, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting.

Proactive mindset with the ability to spot inefficiencies and improve processes.

Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
