Job Purpose
The Cashier – B&I (Fedics) position exists to ensure accurate, efficient, and friendly processing of transactions in a professional food service environment. You will handle payments, maintain accurate cash records, restock supplies, and uphold Tsebo’s service standards.
The role also includes general food service duties and supporting both the front-of-house and back-of-house operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
As a Cashier at Fedics, your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:
Customer Service Excellence

Handle customer queries and concerns courteously and efficiently.

Cash Handling and Till Operations

Ensure that the till area is clean, organized, and operational at all times.

Count and verify float amounts at the start and end of each shift to maintain cash accuracy.

Make sure sufficient change, receipt paper, and printer ribbons are available before starting transactions.

Accurately process cash, card, and other forms of payment while issuing receipts and providing correct change.

Perform daily cash-ups and complete related paperwork accurately in accordance with Tsebo’s financial standards.

Report any cash discrepancies or shortages immediately and account for them as per company procedures.
Stock and Display Maintenance

Ensure that the resale area is properly stocked and neatly displayed at all times.

Refill fridges and shelves daily to ensure products are readily available for customers.

Maintain accurate records of stock sold and restocked.

Collaborate with team members to keep the front-of-house area clean, presentable, and inviting.
Operational Support

Support the front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery.

Assist with food service duties such as preparing beverages, serving customers, and cleaning counters.

Step in to assist in other areas during quiet periods, demonstrating teamwork and flexibility.

Perform daily sales analysis and reporting to help management track performance.

At the end of each shift, ensure that the Admin Assistant or Admin Manager completes the till cash-up procedure.

3 to 5 years’ experience in a similar cashier or point-of-sale role, preferably in the hospitality, retail, or catering industry.

Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with direct customer interaction is an advantage.
