Introduction

The Garden Route District is inviting applications from qualified Professional Nurses to provide high-quality nursing services across Primary Health Care facilities. This includes Community Day Centers, Clinics, Satellite Clinics, and Mobile Clinics. Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical competence, excellent communication, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within the Primary Health Care team.

Minimum Requirements

• Basic R425 qualification (Diploma/Degree in Nursing or equivalent) allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife

• Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife

• Experience:

  • Grade 1: No experience required

  • Grade 2: Minimum 10 years’ experience in General Nursing after registration

  • Grade 3: Minimum 20 years’ experience in General Nursing after registration

• Valid driver’s license

• Willingness to work overtime and at multiple PHC facilities

Key Duties

• Provide direction and supervision for delivery of comprehensive nursing care in Primary Health Care

• Ensure ethical practice in line with Ideal Clinic standards

• Foster constructive relationships with all stakeholders of the PHC team

• Efficient use of human, material, and physical resources

• Participate in training programs, mentorship, and research initiatives

• Maintain workplace discipline and manage subordinate staff professionally
