Minimum Requirements – Who Should Apply

Educational Qualification

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Three-year National Diploma (NQF6) or

  • Undergraduate Degree (NQF7) in one of the following fields:

    • Business Management

    • Administration

    • Logistics

    • Financial Management

    • LLB / Commercial Law

    • Information Technology

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a South African citizen

  • Must be an unemployed graduate who has not previously participated in any internship programme

Role Purpose – Supporting ICT Contract and Licence Management

The Contract and Licence Controller Intern assists the ICT team in ensuring that government IT contracts and software licences are well-coordinated, monitored, and managed throughout their lifecycle.

The internship provides exposure to:

  • Service Level Agreement (SLA) development and monitoring

  • Contract lifecycle management and compliance

  • Software procurement, administration, and licensing

  • Reporting and documentation for ICT governance and audit purposes

This role is critical in supporting the Department’s ICT operations, ensuring software compliance, and contributing to efficient ICT service delivery.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Interns will participate in a variety of ICT and administrative support functions, including:

1. Coordination of ICT Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

  • Assist in drafting and coordinating SLAs between ICT service providers and the Department

  • Support monitoring of SLA compliance and performance metrics

  • Help prepare reports to improve service delivery and contract adherence

2. Contract Management Support

  • Coordinate information for better contract management

  • Assist in tracking key contract milestones and obligations

  • Support ICT and business teams in maintaining accurate records of all agreements

3. Software Procurement Lifecycle Support

  • Help manage the software procurement process from requisition to delivery

  • Assist in maintaining records of software purchases, renewals, and licensing agreements

  • Support compliance with government ICT policies and procurement standards

4. Software Administration

  • Administer software licences throughout their lifecycle

  • Assist in monitoring licence usage, renewals, and compliance

  • Support the ICT team in identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness
