Position Overview

The Returns Clerk supports the Distribution Centre (DC) Operations by ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled stock transactions. This role is key to maintaining stock integrity, operational efficiency, and an excellent customer experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, disciplined, and capable of handling high-volume administrative and stock-control tasks in a dynamic DC environment.


Key Responsibilities

System Transactions & Stock Control

  • Open let-down transactions within 1 hour of stock being reserved in bulk
  • Manage reserved stock within target thresholds to support DC KPAs
  • Open daily push-up transactions to manage pickface ageing and optimise utilisation
  • Maintain slotting integrity and ensure single SKU per full pallet pickface
  • Process ad hoc transactions accurately and on time
  • Monitor open transactions and escalate any older than 24 hours
  • Support additional ad hoc operational requirements as needed

Administration & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile physical stock movements against system records
  • Maintain accurate documentation and filing of adjustments, stock counts, and system requests

Health and Safety

  • Comply with all Occupational Health and Safety standards and DC safety protocols

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF 4
  • 3–5 years’ clerical experience within a Distribution Centre environment
  • Minimum 2 years’ administrative experience
  • Computer literate (MS Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience processing stock transactions on WMS or similar systems
  • Understanding of stock control and loss prevention principles
  • Medically fit to perform DC operational tasks
  • Reliable transport and availability for operational shifts, including weekends and public holidays
  • Clear criminal and credit record
