Position Overview

Procera Group is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the safety, functionality, and upkeep of buildings and grounds in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. Working closely with security personnel, maintenance teams, and external contractors, the Facilities Manager will ensure all facilities meet health, safety, and operational standards.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented facilities professional with strong leadership, planning, and multi-tasking capabilities.

Key Objectives of the Role

  • Ensure all facilities comply with safety, cleanliness, and operational standards
  • Maintain building equipment and infrastructure to meet health and safety regulations
  • Plan and manage installations, upgrades, and refurbishments
  • Supervise facilities staff and coordinate with contractors and service providers
  • Manage insurance contracts and compliance documentation
  • Ensure buildings remain fully compliant with maintenance protocols and legal requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Delegate cleaning, maintenance, and repair tasks to facilities staff
  • Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections
  • Monitor interior and exterior building areas for cleanliness and structural integrity
  • Develop, manage, and track project budgets and maintenance schedules
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and facilities management policies
  • Support maintenance projects and building installations as required
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and contractor activities

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in Facilities Management or building operations
  • Strong mechanical and plumbing skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems and general building services
  • Ability to perform physical and labour-intensive tasks when required
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Certified Facility Manager (CFM) qualification or equivalent
  • Experience in planning, managing, and controlling facility budgets
  • Contract and vendor management experience
  • Professional leadership experience within facilities or property management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and compliance standards
