Position Overview: HVAC Artisan Job in Melkbosstrand

BFM is seeking a qualified HVAC Artisan to perform planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance on air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, and water reticulation systems.

This role is ideal for a technically skilled professional with hands-on trade experience in HVAC systems, digital control systems, and compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.

Key Responsibilities

As an HVAC Artisan, you will be responsible for:

• Implementing equipment service specifications according to client and company standards
• Installing and commissioning air-conditioning and water reticulation equipment
• Performing preventative and emergency maintenance on HVAC systems
• Maintaining refrigeration and ventilation systems
• Inspecting facilities and identifying equipment risks
• Ensuring compliance with SLA requirements and relevant legislation
• Completing field service requests accurately and within deadlines
• Providing regular feedback to supervisors and clients on operational status
• Maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this HVAC technician position, candidates must have:

• Matric (Senior Certificate)
• N3 – N6 in Mechanical Engineering
• Trade Test in HVAC (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as an artisan
• 5 years’ experience in air-conditioning, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment maintenance
• 3 years’ trade experience
• Experience with digital control systems
• Valid South African Driver’s License
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook
• Working knowledge of the OHS Act
