The company is currently seeking a high-performing and strategic leader to join its team as Regional Manager: Gauteng South.
Position Overview
The Regional Manager: Gauteng South will be responsible for translating and executing the divisional strategy and business plan to drive sustainable growth and performance across all sales channels within the region.
This role requires strong commercial acumen, operational leadership, and the ability to align regional execution with corporate strategy, products, and service offerings. The successful candidate will be accountable for achieving sales revenue, customer acquisition targets, and divisional profitability while ensuring an exceptional customer experience across all touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Translate corporate strategy into divisional business plans
- Execute route-to-market strategies to ensure regional growth and performance
- Align operations with Commercial, Retail Operations, Marketing, and Corporate Strategy
- Lead implementation of strategic projects within the division
- Maintain alignment and communication with other divisions
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Drive achievement of sales revenue and acquisition targets
- Establish and manage KPIs for all channels within the division
- Develop profitable customer acquisition strategies
- Grow SME, Corporate, Government, and Retail sales segments
- Identify new business opportunities and expand into new markets
- Strengthen channel partnerships and key account relationships
Marketing & Brand Leadership
- Provide divisional input into national marketing strategies
- Manage field marketing and divisional campaigns
- Oversee promotional activities, events, and sponsorships
- Ensure brand visibility and equity within Gauteng South
- Manage divisional Sales and Marketing budgets
- Represent Cell C at trade shows and industry events
Channel Management & Field Operations
- Manage relationships with channel partner head offices
- Oversee performance management of sales channels and key accounts
- Implement scorecards and KPI monitoring systems
- Ensure alignment between divisional marketing activities and point-of-sale material rollout
- Drive intense market penetration across the region
Customer Experience Leadership
- Develop and drive a customer-centric environment
- Ensure consistent customer experience across all touchpoints
- Oversee effective operational management of walk-in centres
- Ensure timely resolution of customer issues within SLAs
- Build a culture of ownership to resolve customer queries efficiently
- Collaborate with Customer Experience Division to enhance loyalty and retention
Financial & Operational Management
- Assist with forecasting future OPEX and CAPEX expenses
- Manage divisional budgets and cost controls
- Monitor financial performance and operational reporting
- Maximize cost efficiencies across the division
- Evaluate expansion strategies and improve profitability
- Manage stock, assets, and minimize operational risk
Risk, Compliance & Asset Management
- Ensure compliance with enterprise risk frameworks
- Adopt zero-tolerance approach to risk
- Maintain control of company assets including vehicles, stock, and cash
- Ensure adequate controls across all sales channels
- Maintain adherence to quality and compliance standards
Health & Safety Management
- Enforce Health & Safety training and compliance
- Manage environmental compliance requirements
- Ensure conformance to company quality standards
- Act in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
Staff Leadership & Development
- Recruit, manage, and develop senior employees
- Conduct performance appraisals and establish KPIs
- Drive Employee Performance Management programmes
- Mentor teams in new business development and sales strategies
- Uphold HR policies and labour relations standards
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce in Sales & Marketing, Business Management, Operations, or Business Innovation
OR - National Higher Diploma in Sales / Marketing
Experience Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in General Management (commercial and revenue-generating focus)
- 5+ years’ Senior Leadership / Management experience
- Telecommunications and Customer Services experience
- Proven track record of improving revenue and profitability
- Strong understanding of commercial policies and operational alignment
- Experience in business case development, financial modelling, and feasibility studies
- Strong project management capability
