Position Overview
The Senior HVAC Artisan is responsible for performing planned, preventative, and emergency maintenance on air-conditioning and water reticulation systems in line with the company’s maintenance strategy and client service standards.
This role ensures that HVAC and related systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with legislative and SLA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Commissioning
- Install and commission air-conditioning and water reticulation systems according to specifications
- Implement equipment service specifications aligned with client and company standards
Maintenance & Fault Rectification
- Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance
- Perform emergency fault rectification on HVAC and water reticulation systems
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, SLAs, and job plans
- Maintain digital control systems and air-conditioning equipment
Inspection & Risk Identification
- Conduct site inspections of facilities and HVAC systems
- Identify risks and areas requiring corrective action
- Provide detailed feedback to Supervisor and Client on restoration progress
Quality & Reporting
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and timeous completion of field requests
- Provide consistent updates to stakeholders
- Maintain accurate documentation and service records
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Senior Certificate)
- N3 – N6 in Mechanical Engineering
- Trade Test in HVAC (Air-conditioning & Refrigeration)
- Additional Electrical Trade Test (advantageous)
- Valid South African Driver’s License
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
- Air-conditioning equipment maintenance
- Water reticulation systems
- Digital control systems
- Minimum 5 years’ trade experience
Technical Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of HVAC maintenance and fault diagnosis
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act
- Proficiency in:
- MS Word

- MS Outlook
- SAP
