Position Overview

HomeChoice is currently hiring a Returns Clerk to join its Distribution Centre operations in Blackheath, Western Cape.

The role focuses on supporting warehouse operations by ensuring accurate stock transactions, inventory integrity, and efficient returns processing within the Distribution Centre (DC). The Returns Clerk plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, stock movement records, and warehouse operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

System Transactions & Stock Control

  • Open let-down transactions within one hour of stock being reserved in bulk
  • Ensure reserved stock in bulk is managed within operational thresholds
  • Create daily push-up transactions to manage pickface ageing and optimise warehouse space
  • Maintain SKU location integrity across warehouse storage locations
  • Process all inventory system adjustments accurately after management approval
  • Create replenishment transactions for all slotted warehouse areas
  • Ensure all full pallet pickfaces contain a single SKU

Returns Processing & Operational Support

  • Raise transactions to clear the returns put-away area efficiently
  • Assign open transactions to QWIX operational systems for warehouse execution
  • Monitor open transactions and escalate items older than 24 hours
  • Support warehouse teams with ad-hoc operational transaction requests

Administration & Reconciliation

  • Reconcile physical stock movements with system records
  • Maintain accurate filing of stock adjustments and inventory documentation
  • Ensure proper documentation of ad-hoc transaction requests

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Follow all Occupational Health and Safety regulations
  • Comply with Distribution Centre safety procedures and protocols

Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for this warehouse clerk job in Blackheath must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4
  • 3–5 years clerical experience in a Distribution Centre environment
  • Minimum 2 years administrative experience
  • Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or similar systems
  • Understanding of stock control, inventory management, and loss prevention principles
  • Ability to process high volumes of transactions with strong accuracy
  • Medically fit to perform physical requirements in a warehouse environment
  • Reliable transport to Blackheath Distribution Centre
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Clear criminal and credit record

Minimum Requirements

To qualify for this Telemarketing Agent job in Cape Town, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Matric (Grade 12) – Mandatory
  • 2–3 years outbound sales or telemarketing experience in a contact centre – Preferred
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Strong sales closing and objection-handling skills
  • Experience working with dialler systems and outbound campaigns
  • Excellent telephone communication skills
