The company is currently recruiting a Returns Clerk to join its Distribution Centre in Blackheath, Western Cape. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate stock transactions, warehouse administration, and inventory control, which are essential for maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview
The Returns Clerk will support Distribution Centre operations by ensuring that all stock-related system transactions are captured accurately and processed within the required timelines. The role is critical in maintaining inventory accuracy, warehouse efficiency, and effective stock movement across the distribution network.
The successful candidate will work closely with operations teams to ensure that returns management, system transactions, and reconciliation processes are handled efficiently and in line with company policies.
This role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS).
Key Responsibilities
System Transactions & Stock Control
The Returns Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate warehouse system transactions and ensuring stock integrity within the distribution centre.
Responsibilities include:

Opening let-down transactions within one hour of stock being reserved in bulk.
-
Monitoring and managing reserved stock in bulk to meet distribution centre KPI thresholds.
-
Raising daily push-up transactions to manage pickface ageing and ensure efficient stock utilization.
-
Maintaining slotting integrity by ensuring correct SKU and storage location relationships.
-
Ensuring all slotted areas are replenished through accurate and timely system transactions.
-
Confirming that full pallet pickfaces contain only one SKU at a time.
-
Processing stock adjustments accurately with management approval.
-
Handling ad hoc system transaction requests within the required timeframe.
-
Managing returns putaway transactions to maintain operational flow.
-
Assigning and communicating open transactions to QWIX for execution by operations teams.
-
Monitoring open transactions and escalating any that exceed 24 hours.
Administration and Reconciliation
The Returns Clerk will also ensure accurate administrative control of warehouse stock transactions.
Key duties include:

Reconciling physical warehouse transactions against system records.
-
Maintaining accurate documentation of stock adjustments and posted counts.
-
Filing all administrative records related to system requests and stock movements.
-
Supporting distribution centre operations with additional administrative tasks when required.
Health and Safety Compliance
Employees working in distribution environments must follow strict safety procedures.
The Returns Clerk must:

Follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

Comply with all distribution centre safety protocols.
-
Maintain a safe working environment in collaboration with warehouse operations teams.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Grade 12 / Matric / NQF Level 4 qualification (minimum requirement)

3 – 5 years clerical experience within a Distribution Centre environment

At least 2 years administrative experience

Computer literacy including:

Microsoft Excel

Microsoft Word

Microsoft Outlook
-

Experience capturing stock transactions on a Warehouse Management System (WMS) or similar system

Strong understanding of stock control and loss prevention principles
-
Ability to handle high volumes of data while maintaining accuracy

Ability to follow strict returns and authorization procedures
-
Medically fit to work in a distribution centre environment
-
Reliable transport to and from Blackheath Distribution Centre

Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
-
Clear criminal and credit record
