Position Overview

Multiform Human Development is currently recruiting a Health and Safety Manager based in Klerksdorp, North West. This role is responsible for overseeing all occupational health and safety operations within the organization to ensure compliance with national safety regulations and company policies.

The successful candidate will develop and implement safety programs, conduct risk assessments, coordinate training initiatives, and ensure that employees operate in a safe and compliant environment.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining workplace safety standards, accident prevention strategies, and regulatory compliance within the manufacturing and industrial equipment sector.

Key Responsibilities

The Health and Safety Manager will lead the organization’s health and safety initiatives through the following responsibilities:

Health and Safety Policy Management

• Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures in line with industry regulations
• Monitor and review workplace practices to ensure full regulatory compliance
• Maintain compliance with relevant occupational health and safety legislation

Safety Systems and Portal Management

• Maintain health and safety portals on platforms including:
  • HSEC
  • Passport 360
  • Cognibox
• Ensure accurate documentation and regulatory reporting on safety platforms

Risk Assessment and Safety Audits

• Conduct regular risk assessments at company premises and client sites
• Perform workplace inspections and audits to identify potential hazards
• Implement corrective actions to minimize workplace risks

Safety Training and Awareness

• Coordinate employee safety training programs covering:
  • Equipment safety procedures
  • Emergency response protocols
  • Hazard identification and risk mitigation
• Ensure all health and safety representatives’ certifications remain valid and up to date

Incident Management and Reporting

• Investigate accidents and workplace incidents
• Identify root causes and develop preventive safety strategies
• Maintain accurate records of safety training, inspections, and incidents

Client and Project Safety Compliance

• Compile comprehensive health and safety files for clients, projects, and contractors
• Travel to client sites when required to ensure compliance with safety requirements

Minimum Requirements

Candidates applying for this position should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Environmental Science
  • Industrial Hygiene
  • Or a related field
• SAMREC / COMSOC certification
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Health and Safety Management
• Experience within the manufacturing or industrial equipment sector preferred
• Experience using web-based safety management portals

Technical Knowledge and Compliance

The successful candidate must demonstrate knowledge of:

• Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
• Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) compliance requirements
• Industry-specific safety standards and risk management frameworks
