Position Overview

The Campus Bursar reports directly to the Senior Financial Administrator and School Principal. This role is responsible for managing the school’s entire finance function, providing guidance to staff, ensuring accurate reporting, and acting as the financial liaison between the school and Group Shared Services.

The ideal candidate will have strong financial management experience, attention to detail, and the ability to operate efficiently in a high-pressure, dynamic school environment.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Business Partnering

  • Manage the school’s finances and serve as a strategic partner to school management
  • Participate in campus management and brand meetings
  • Drive and manage the annual OPEX and CAPEX budget process
  • Advise school management on expenditure and financial planning
  • Analyse monthly management accounts and report findings

Financial Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee procurement, accounts payable, and debt management
  • Ensure bursaries, discounts, and financial policies are accurately applied
  • Track income and expenses daily on budget trackers
  • Prepare and submit CAPEX applications accurately and on time
  • Monitor school event budgets and payroll, liaising with principals as needed
  • Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, and financial reports

Staff Support & Training

  • Train staff on financial policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and customers on finance-related matters

Collections & Billing

  • Ensure timely collections from parents for school events, grade camps, and tours
  • Review and submit accurate billing information to Group Shared Services

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Grade 12
  • Bookkeeping or accounting diploma preferred
  • 7–10 years’ experience in a similar finance role
  • Strong bookkeeping and accounting knowledge required
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel and financial reporting systems
