Position Overview
The Career Centre Intern role is a 12-month contract opportunity based in Cape Town. This position focuses on supporting graduate placements, coordinating career-related events, and assisting students in securing employment opportunities.
This role is perfect for candidates seeking HR internships, graduate placement roles, or entry-level jobs in Cape Town within the education sector.
Key Responsibilities
Graduate Placement Support
- Match graduate CVs with job descriptions and employer requirements
- Arrange interviews with shortlisted candidates
- Prepare graduates for interviews and workplace readiness
- Follow up with graduates and employers after placement
Career Services & Administration
- Run email campaigns and communicate job opportunities to graduates
- Maintain and update the graduate database with placement details
- Generate reports, statistics, and placement data
- Process and format CVs according to department standards
Employer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Obtain job specifications and entry-level role requirements from employers
- Present candidates to prospective employers
- Ensure candidates meet employer expectations
Event Coordination & Planning
- Assist in organising career events, workshops, job shadowing, and internships
- Coordinate logistics such as venues, equipment, and catering
- Schedule and manage graduate work-readiness sessions
Minimum Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12
- Relevant 3-year Diploma or Degree in:
- Human Resources
- Marketing
- Sales
- Or related field
