Position Overview
The Financial Manager – GWM Honda George will manage the dealership’s finance department, maintaining internal control measures, corporate governance compliance, and accurate financial reporting.
This role supports the Dealer Principal and Financial Executive in achieving financial objectives, mitigating operational risks, and providing timely and accurate management information while overseeing finance, reporting, budgeting, and HR-related payroll functions at dealership level.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and report financial statements to Division, Head Office, and auditors
- Compile management accounts, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis, and commentaries
- Ensure integrity and reliability of financial data
- Oversee month-end cut-offs and financial reconciliation
- Manage cash flow, payments, and co-signatory responsibilities in line with policy
- Prepare and monitor dealership budgets in collaboration with departmental managers
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance, statutory, and financial reporting requirements
- Analyze profit & loss, cash flows, and daily financial activity
- Conduct reconciliation of vehicles, parts, and service assets
- Manage suppliers, customers, debtors, and creditors efficiently
- Identify opportunities to minimize costs and increase revenue
- Recruit, train, and develop finance and administration team members
Minimum Requirements
- BCom degree in Accounting (NQF7+)
- Recognized Management/Leadership Diploma or Certificate advantageous
- 5+ years’ experience in financial management or accounting, preferably in automotive retail
- Strong knowledge of accounting, taxation, and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work independently, under pressure, and manage multiple priorities
