Position Overview: Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant Job in Boskruin

Dis-Chem is seeking a Post Basic Qualified Pharmacist Assistant for their Boskruin store. This role involves providing pharmaceutical care, assisting with medicine dispensing, ensuring accurate script processing, and supporting customers with their health-related needs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances
  • Support compounding, manipulation, or preparation of non-sterile medicines under pharmacist supervision
  • Assist with manufacturing, re-packaging, and distribution of medications
  • Process prescription scripts accurately and ensure patient details are correctly captured
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding correct use of medications
  • Advise and assist patients in dispensary, self-medication, and front-shop areas
  • Process claims and paperwork for medical aids accurately
  • Track chronic, HIV/AIDS, and oncology medication authorisations
  • Maintain customer profiles and ensure accurate stock and dispensary records
  • Facilitate bi-annual stock takes and exercise stock, cash, and asset control
  • Keep updated with medical aid procedures, product knowledge, and dispensing policies

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
  • Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
  • Experience working on Unisolv
  • Computer literate (MS Office)
  • Sound numerical skills
  • Strong command of English and a second language
  • Willing and able to work retail hours

Advantageous:

  • Knowledge of Retail / FMCG operations
  • Third additional language
  • Experience with SAP and E-Scripting
  • Knowledge of drug, family planning, and complementary medicine
