Position Overview
The Senior Bookkeeper will manage the full spectrum of the bookkeeping and accounting function at Pedros’ Head Office in Centurion. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and internal control adherence, supporting both operational and executive decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented finance professional with experience in FMCG, fast-food, or retail environments, capable of preparing management accounts, conducting audits, and implementing SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare, collate, and interpret financial reports for management review
- Maintain fixed asset registers and accounting records
- Review accounts payable and accounts receivable to ensure accuracy
- Conduct inventory valuations and verification of count sheets
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure tax compliance and adherence to statutory regulations
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Implement and monitor internal controls and SOPs
Budgeting & Analysis
- Manage budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial commentary
- Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data
Operational Collaboration
- Liaise effectively with operations and finance teams
- Ensure accurate financial processes are followed across departments
Professional Skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Effective problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication
Minimum Requirements
- Tertiary qualification: Degree or Diploma in Finance or Accounting
- 3+ years’ experience in bookkeeping, including preparation of management accounts
- Proficiency in MS Office and accounting software (Sage 50, Sage 200, or similar)
- Hands-on experience and sound understanding of accounting principles
- Previous experience in FMCG, fast-food, or retail sectors
- Proven track record of accuracy, compliance, and process improvement
