Position Overview
VKB Group is seeking a Silo Manager to oversee the profitable management and operational efficiency of the silo in Tweeling, Free State. The role requires hands-on management, strong leadership, and a commitment to grain quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the continuous flow of grain and ensure quality control
- Maintain grain protection through regular fumigation
- Monitor grain tube temperatures and report deviations
- Measure grain tubes according to policy and safety regulations
- Oversee input trade duties and silo operations in compliance with VKB Group policies
- Manage inventory, finances, and administrative processes
- Supervise infrastructure management and general operations
- Ensure excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF4 qualification
- Completion of the New Manager’s Program (or relevant training)
- 3-5 years of proven industry management experience
- Certification in grain grading and silo operations
- Computer literacy in MS Office
- Strong focus on achieving operational and strategic organizational goals
