Position Overview
The Teacher – Afrikaans FET Phase role is designed for passionate educators who are committed to inspiring high school learners and delivering engaging Afrikaans lessons.
You will be responsible for planning, teaching, assessing, and supporting students in the Further Education and Training (FET) phase, ensuring they reach their full academic potential.

Key Responsibilities
Academic Delivery
- Plan and deliver engaging Afrikaans lessons for FET phase learners
- Create a stimulating and student-centered classroom environment
- Inspire and motivate learners to achieve academic excellence
Assessment & Reporting
- Design and administer assessments aligned with curriculum standards
- Track and evaluate student performance
- Provide detailed academic reports and feedback
Student Behaviour Management
- Maintain discipline and positive classroom behaviour
- Support learners’ emotional and social development
- Foster a respectful and inclusive learning environment
School Brand Ambassadorship
- Represent the school with professionalism and integrity
- Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the community
- Promote the values and vision of Pinnacle College
Administration & Compliance
- Maintain accurate academic records and reports
- Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures
- Adhere to health and safety regulations
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Degree (NQF Level 7)
- PGCE OR Bachelor of Education (FET Phase) specialising in Afrikaans
- Valid SACE registration
- Police clearance (mandatory)
Experience
- 2–5 years teaching experience
- 2–5 years experience teaching Afrikaans at FET level
- Strong computer and digital literacy
- First Aid certification (advantageous)
