Position Overview
Emeris Nelson Mandela Bay Campus is seeking a Part-Time Lecturer (Sessional Lecturer) for the Financial Management module in the Faculty of Management Studies.
This role is designed for experienced finance professionals or academics who can deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based instruction to Bachelor of Commerce students.
It is ideal for candidates looking for financial management lecturing jobs in South Africa, part-time university teaching roles, or higher education finance lecturer positions in the Eastern Cape.
Key Performance Areas
Teaching & Learning Delivery
- Prepare and deliver Financial Management lectures
- Facilitate active, student-centred learning
- Align teaching with module requirements and academic pacing guides
Student Support & Assessment
- Provide feedback via the learning management system
- Prepare students for assessments (formative and summative)
- Identify at-risk students and support academic improvement
- Monitor engagement and participation
Academic Administration
- Update and manage learning systems
- Attend academic meetings and development workshops
- Participate in professional development activities
- Contribute to teaching quality improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
Qualification Requirements
Ideal:
- Honours in Financial Accounting or Financial Management
Alternatively:
- Honours in related business field (Accounting, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Risk, Supply Chain, Project Management) with relevant subject coverage
- OR Bachelor’s degree with Accounting / Financial Management to 3rd-year level
- PLUS MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Business
Experience Requirements
- Lecturing experience in Financial Management (essential)
- Practical work experience in Financial Management (essential)

- Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly
- Strong academic delivery and facilitation skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal)

Working Conditions
