Position Overview

Bidvest Prestige is currently recruiting a Wages Administrator – South Rand based in Germiston. The primary purpose of this role is to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll administration for wage staff.

This position plays a critical role in managing payroll data, resolving employee queries, and ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements. It is ideal for candidates seeking payroll administration jobs in South Africa or HR and finance support roles in Gauteng.


Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration & Processing

  • Ensure accurate processing of wage payroll activities
  • Capture new appointments, promotions, terminations, and employment changes
  • Maintain and update payroll-related data

Reporting & Financial Support

  • Produce monthly wage cost reports for finance meetings
  • Submit payroll reports and schedules timeously
  • Provide payroll data for forecasting and P&L reporting

Employee Relations & Queries

  • Handle employee payroll and biographical change queries
  • Provide UIF (UI19) documents and certificates of service
  • Assist with employment confirmations for external parties

Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure payroll compliance with company policies and legislation
  • Maintain accurate employee records and confidential files
  • Submit provident fund withdrawal applications

System & Process Management

  • Ensure all payroll and time & attendance tasks are completed on time
  • Monitor payroll discrepancies and report findings
  • Support management with payroll-related reports and queries

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Payroll Certificate or relevant payroll experience
  • Matric (Senior Certificate)

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ payroll administration experience
  • Experience in a customer service-oriented environment
  • Knowledge of payroll MIS systems advantageous

Technical Skills

  • Advanced MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Outlook
  • Knowledge of payroll systems (CRS and D365 advantageous)
  • Strong numerical and data management skills
