Position Overview

PEP is seeking a skilled and analytical Business Analyst to join its Business Solutions team in Cape Town. The role focuses on improving finance systems, business processes, and technology solutions to drive efficiency and support strategic decision-making.

This position is ideal for a professional who thrives in data analysis, system design, and process optimisation within a retail environment.


Key Responsibilities

Business Process & Systems Support

  • Support existing finance systems and business processes
  • Identify system inefficiencies and recommend improvements
  • Provide ongoing system and user support

Analysis & Solution Design

  • Analyse business problems and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Design new systems and business processes
  • Develop business cases and solution proposals
  • Translate business needs into functional specifications (BRS, user stories)

Project Management & Implementation

  • Manage system enhancement specifications, testing, and implementation
  • Support project delivery within scope, time, and budget
  • Monitor project costs and ensure budget compliance
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and workshops

Documentation & Reporting

  • Develop process maps and business process documentation
  • Write functional and technical specifications
  • Create user manuals and standard operating procedures
  • Compile reports and data analysis documentation

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Facilitate workshops with business and technical teams
  • Provide user support and resolve system issues
  • Ensure solutions align with strategic business objectives

Minimum Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance, Business, or related field (CA(SA) advantageous)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Systems or Business Analyst
  • Experience in retail or financial environments preferred
  • Understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)
  • Experience with Agile (Scrum) methodologies

Technical Skills

  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced)
  • Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc.)
  • SQL / MySQL (advantageous)
  • SAP knowledge (advantageous)
