Position Overview
Mr Price Apparel is looking for a talented Front-End Developer to join its Durban-based digital team. This role focuses on building visually appealing, responsive, and high-performing web interfaces across the company’s website, mobile platforms, and eCommerce systems.
This is an excellent opportunity for developers passionate about HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and UI/UX design, who want to work in a leading retail tech and eCommerce environment.
Key Responsibilities
Front-End Development
- Write and maintain clean, efficient HTML5 and CSS3 code
- Develop responsive web pages for mrprice.com and mobile platforms
- Collaborate with design teams to deliver high-quality UI components
User Interface & Experience
- Build interactive user-interface features
- Translate business and customer needs into engaging digital experiences
- Create mock-ups and prototypes for new layouts and features
Performance & SEO Optimisation
- Optimise applications for speed, scalability, and responsiveness
- Implement SEO best practices to improve Google rankings
- Ensure cross-device compatibility and accessibility
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with developers and designers to improve functionality
- Assist with testing, debugging, and troubleshooting website issues
- Provide support for eCommerce CMS and email marketing platforms
Quality Assurance
- Ensure all work meets company brand standards
- Maintain consistency across digital platforms
- Use reusable code and libraries to improve efficiency
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Front-End Development role
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap (v3 & v4)
- Experience with email HTML coding
- Knowledge of SEO best practices
- Experience using Content Management Systems (CMS)
Advantageous Skills
- JavaScript / jQuery
- Magento 2
- Figma
- UI/UX design experience
