Position Overview
Power Fashion is seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Manager to join its Durban-based team. The role is responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and supporting senior management with key business insights.
This position is ideal for a qualified finance professional with strong leadership ability and experience in retail finance, budgeting, and financial control.
Key Responsibilities
Month-End & Financial Closing
- Oversee and finalise monthly closing processes
- Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with accounting standards
- Process journals and ensure financial accuracy across all accounts
Budgeting & Strategic Planning
- Coordinate annual budgets and financial forecasts
- Support long-term strategic and business planning
- Provide financial insights to guide business decisions
Audit & Compliance
- Manage internal and external audit processes
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting principles
- Prepare documentation for audit requirements
Reporting & Analysis
- Compile monthly, half-year, and year-end financial reports
- Assist in preparing strategic financial packs
- Analyse financial performance and highlight risks and opportunities
Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the finance team effectively
- Set clear KPIs and performance expectations
- Drive training, coaching, and professional development
- Promote a high-performance, deadline-driven culture
Minimum Requirements
- BCompt Honours, CIMA, or CA(SA) qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ post-articles experience
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting systems
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Retail industry experience (advantageous)
