Position Overview
Mr Price is seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Value Chain Coordinator to join its Durban-based Supply Chain team. This role focuses on analysing key supply chain metrics, identifying process improvements, and supporting strategic initiatives across sourcing and logistics functions.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in improving efficiency, cost reduction, and end-to-end supply chain performance.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Chain Analysis & Performance Monitoring
- Analyse key supply chain and sourcing metrics to measure performance
- Identify risks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities
- Support initiatives to improve cost efficiency and reduce waste
- Provide insights to enhance profitability across the supply chain
Process Improvement & Strategy Support
- Investigate and recommend process optimisation opportunities
- Support sourcing and merchandising teams with supply chain queries
- Assist in improving port lead times, shipping schedules, and order flow
- Contribute to supply chain strategy execution
Communication & Stakeholder Management
- Communicate shipment delays and order impacts to merchandising teams
- Liaise with shipping teams regarding container and logistics issues
- Coordinate communication around returns, recalls, and quality issues
- Build strong relationships with internal supply chain stakeholders
Reporting & Data Analysis
- Compile and analyse supply chain performance reports
- Track key metrics and highlight trends and risks
- Present insights to support business decision-making
- Ensure accurate reporting for operational optimisation
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in supply chain or logistics environment
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel required)
- Solid understanding of sourcing and supply chain processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
