Business Development Chef Job Overview

The Business Development Chef will help build Siqalo Foods’ culinary credibility while supporting growth in the food service and industrial channels.

This role involves customer engagement, product demonstrations, recipe development, market trend analysis, and collaboration with sales and R&D teams.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Business Development

  • Visit existing customers to drive product growth
  • Convert new leads through product education and demonstrations
  • Participate in trade shows, expos, and industry events
  • Build strong relationships with distributors, QSRs, HORECA customers, and industrial food manufacturers

Culinary Expertise & Product Development

  • Develop recipes, menus, and product applications
  • Conduct product testing and competitor benchmarking
  • Recommend new product applications across the portfolio
  • Support New Product Development (NPD) projects and go-to-market strategies

Market Research & Insights

  • Monitor food trends, culinary innovations, and market developments
  • Share insights with internal teams
  • Identify new channel and market opportunities

Technical Support & Training

  • Lead culinary training sessions for chefs and operators
  • Provide technical problem-solving support
  • Demonstrate best practices in product usage

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Matric
  • Qualified Chef or Culinary Arts Qualification (minimum 3-year qualification)
  • Marketing or Sales qualification (advantageous)
  • Valid Code EB Driver’s Licence

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years of culinary experience in professional or commercial kitchens
  • Experience working with fats and creams
  • Experience conducting culinary training
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders
  • Sales experience or lead conversion experience (advantageous)
