About the Role

As a Stockroom Associate at @home Canal Walk, you will be the operational backbone of the store’s inventory flow and back-of-house operations. You will oversee the accurate receiving, processing, and dispatching of incoming stock consignments, ensuring items are processed within strict timeframes and seamlessly moved to the sales floor.
Operating in a high-volume homeware retail environment, you will maintain world-class stockroom organization, control stock losses in line with company shrinkage targets, and provide vital feedback to store management regarding stock levels and movements. This role requires strong organizational discipline, physical agility, leadership capacity to direct team efforts, and flexibility to work dynamic shift patterns.

Key Responsibilities of a Stockroom Associate

Stock Management & Inventory Processing
  • Manage the safe receiving, checking, unpacking, and dispatching of store stock shipments.
  • Process inventory within strict operational timeframes to keep merchandise moving smoothly.
  • Facilitate rapid, efficient stock rotation from back-of-house storage areas to the retail sales floor.
  • Provide continuous feedback to store managers regarding stock counts, discrepancies, and inventory flow.
Housekeeping, Shrinkage & Loss Control
  • Maintain world-class stockroom cleanliness, organization, layout standards, and safety conditions.
  • Manage stock loss and shrinkage strictly in accordance with TFG security and operational benchmarks.
  • Enforce store security policies and handling procedures to safeguard company assets during unpacking and storage.
Sales Support & Team Collaboration
  • Work with the sales floor team to ensure product availability meets customer demand and supports sales targets.
  • Guide and direct stockroom team members during heavy delivery intake shifts.
  • Maintain a customer-centric mindset, ensuring customer collections and special orders are handled efficiently.

Minimum Requirements – Stockroom Associate

Educational Qualifications & Experience
  • Grade 12 / Matric Qualification or equivalent (Essential)
  • Practical experience working in a retail store environment (Essential)
  • 2 years of dedicated stockroom or inventory management experience (Advantageous)
  • Background in hospitality or logistics management (Advantageous)
