A leading logistics and warehousing company based in Centurion, Gauteng is seeking experienced and safety-conscious Reach Truck Drivers to join their operations team. This full-time role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth movement, storage, and replenishment of inventory throughout the warehouse. The successful candidate will report directly to the Inventory Manager or Outbound Manager and must be prepared to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

As a Reach Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the accurate handling and movement of stock throughout the warehouse. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Stock Handling and Movement

  • Safely operate a Reach Truck to move stock from the receiving area to the designated warehouse storage sections.

  • Perform put-away tasks, ensuring received inventory is correctly allocated and recorded in the warehouse system in a timely and precise manner.

  • Replenish stock from bulk storage areas to the picking zones, maintaining optimal stock levels to support the picking and dispatch operations.

2. Inventory Support and Coordination

  • Assist pickers and checkers by transporting the correct quantities and product types to and from designated locations.

  • Support the Inventory Control team during regular and cycle stock counts by moving, organizing, and verifying inventory items.

  • Use scanners or digital tracking systems to record the movement of goods and update inventory records accurately.

3. Equipment Inspection and Maintenance

  • Complete a daily Reach Truck inspection checklist before operating to ensure the machine is in safe and proper working condition.

  • Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or maintenance needs immediately to your supervisor.

  • Ensure the Reach Truck and other equipment are always clean, functional, and stored safely.

4. Health, Safety, and Housekeeping

  • Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and company safety protocols.

  • Operate all warehouse equipment responsibly to prevent accidents or injuries.

  • Keep your work area, aisles, and loading bays neat and organized to promote a safe and efficient workflow.

  • Handle heavy lifting and physical tasks with proper technique and caution.

5. Communication and Teamwork

  • Work closely with supervisors, pickers, and the warehouse management team to ensure smooth operations.

  • Communicate clearly about stock discrepancies, damages, or shortages to prevent delays in order fulfillment.

  • Display a cooperative attitude and contribute positively to team productivity and morale.


Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:

  • Education: Grade 12 / Matric certificate (Essential).

  • License: Valid Reach Truck Operator License (Essential).

  • Experience: At least 2 years of proven experience working as a Reach Truck Driver in a warehouse or logistics environment.

  • Skills: Ability to operate heavy warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and reach trucks safely and efficiently.

  • Language: Proficiency in English (both written and verbal) to ensure clear communication in a diverse work environment.

  • Location: Must reside within 25km of Centurion or be willing to relocate.

  • Other: A clear criminal record and the ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.


Preferred Attributes

While not mandatory, candidates who meet the following preferences will have an advantage:

  • South African citizenship or valid work permit.

  • Experience working in large-scale warehouses or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments.

  • A strong understanding of inventory management systems and warehouse layout optimization.

  • Age between 25 and 45 years old.

  • Excellent time management, accuracy, and attention to detail.
