Position Overview

An exciting permanent opportunity exists for a Senior Electrical BIM Modeller to join a respected consulting engineering firm in Cape Town. This role is suited to an expert-level BIM professional with extensive experience in electrical building services and advanced digital design coordination.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in producing, coordinating, and managing high-level electrical BIM models while supporting multidisciplinary project teams across a diverse portfolio of building developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage detailed electrical BIM models for building services projects
  • Produce coordinated electrical layouts using Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms
  • Ensure accurate integration of electrical systems within multidisciplinary models
  • Support design coordination across commercial, retail, residential, mixed-use, and industrial projects
  • Maintain BIM standards, workflows, and quality control processes
  • Assist with clash detection, model reviews, and technical coordination
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, architects, and other consultants

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years’ experience in the electrical engineering sector
  • Senior or expert-level experience as an Electrical BIM Modeller
  • Strong background in comprehensive electrical building services modelling
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and relevant BIM software
  • Proven project exposure across commercial, retail, high-end residential, mixed-use, and industrial developments
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Own reliable transport
